For 4 and 5-Year-Olds (Required for Year 3)
Throughout our all-day, bi-weekly pre-kindergarten program, we focus on the skills children need for success in kindergarten: Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, Science and Fine Arts. From reading readiness to reading; phonics, basic operations of elementary arithmetic and science. Children are assigned weekly homework, essentially to learn how to bring it back to school! We stress movement during each learning period, allowing children to re-energize and reorganize between lessons, and regularly invite guest teachers, artists, authors, and grownup professionals, to share the outside world with 10th Street.
10th Street graduates are prepared to enter their neighborhood public school or any of the nation’s most illustrious private elementary schools, such as Brentwood, Carlthorp, Center for Early Education, Crossroads, Curtis, John Thomas Dye, Mirman, Seven Arrows, Village, Westland, Willows, and Wildwood.
We are proud that each year, our families get accepted into their first choice schools.
Our children are ready to face the world as relational young people, and eager, self-confident students, unafraid of taking learning risks.
We are proud of the accomplishments of our graduates as they enter prestigious colleges, embark on meaningful and professional careers and return to 10th Street Preschool with children of their own.
